Rolex 15 Jewel open faced, sterling silver pocket watch.
50cm across the case. Size 16
The case is a Dennison sterling silver fully hallmarked, dated to Birmingham 1914. The case is in reasonably good condition, some slight marks commensurate with age and a few light dings to the rear cover. Double hinged and snap shut, all good. The crown looks to have been replaced with a more rounder version than the original and the pendant looks to have had a repair or modification upon close inspection.
This particular case is not original to the movement, however, it is in keeping with the period. Jewellers and watchmakers used Dennison cases of this type to house Rolex movements back when they would buy movements and cases separately.
The dial is a genuine Rolex dial, it has, however, had the "Rolex" logo refinished onto it.
Mineral glass crystal in good condition.
The dial is bright and clean, no cracks or chips. As mentioned, has the "Rolex" logo refinished onto the face.
Gold hands.
Signed "Rolex Lever" 15 jewel movement. Fully serviced (with alloy mainspring), keeps excellent time. The winding gear are missing a few teeth, this does not effect the operation of the watch as it winds fine. Crown set and wind.
Runs very well and keeps good time. A fully functional and usable every day watch.
Fully serviced including modern alloy "unbreakable" mainspring.
Presented in a fitted pocket watch box.
Another top piece, great for wedding, graduation, retirement, Christmas, Fathers day or birthday present.
Collectors piece.
Serviced.
Servicing is defined as the piece being disassembled, cleaned, inspected and adjusted if necessary. It is then re-assembled and correctly oiled, timed for accuracy and adjusted if required. The mainspring will be replaced and the piece will be bench-tested for at least one day.
Statement.
I restore all of my watches to a fully working condition. It is my aim to provide a watch that is not only running but working to a usable state. My watches can be worn and used for their intended purpose on a daily basis. The time keeping should certainly be within +- 5 minutes per 24 hours but I aim for +-3 or better. I do offer guarantees, the details of which can be found on my website for Time Pocket Watches. I have many years experience and a vast catalogue of Waltham spares and parts.
Photography.
My highly detailed photographs show the watch in detail, this level of detail is not normally seen by the naked eye. The watch will look even better in real life.
